Are you struggling with stress, anxiety or depression and looking for counselling in Brighton and Hove? Are you looking for a therapeutic experience that will not just help you manage or gain relief from those difficulties, but bring you to a better understanding of yourself and a deeper feeling of satisfaction with your life? Hove Counselling and Therapy can help.
I am an integrative counsellor based in Hove. I have three years’ experience offering long and short-term counselling to adults. Integrative counselling is a model which combines counselling approaches. It equips me with a variety of tools to help you untangle your feelings and work through your problems. My approach is flexible enough to meet your needs whatever you are going through, and designed to adapt to your worldview.
You might be suffering with any of the difficulties listed here. Or perhaps you are struggling with something harder to define. It could be a feeling that something is not quite right with your life. Or maybe you are having difficulty dealing with or moving on from a troubled relationship, with family, a friend or partner, or a bereavement. Hove Counselling can help you deal with whatever it is that is causing you emotional distress or leaving you feeling out of sync with your true self.
The Hove Counselling and Therapy approach
My approach places equal value on
- the impact of your early experiences on who you are today
- how you feel and what you are going through right now
- your fears, hopes, and dreams for the future
Some people are concerned about the process of therapy. You might be wondering if anything will be expected of you and what it will be ok for you to talk or ask about. At Hove Counselling and Therapy my aim is to demystify the process so you feel able to talk freely about your experience. As such I welcome questions and feedback from clients.
You might be worried that going to counselling is self-indulgent, or wonder what the result will be of you spending time talking about yourself. In fact most clients find the insight they gain in therapy leaves them better able to communicate their feelings and needs. This, and seeing more clearly the changes you want to make in order to live a more fulfilling life, could have a positive impact on the your relationships.
Life is challenging and distressing for everyone at times. Sometimes the very best thing you can do is to get some help working out a way forward.
The process of finding a counsellor can feel overwhelming. But in doing so you are taking a big step towards gaining a better understanding of yourself and living your best life. It would be a privilege for me to go with you on that journey.
